Loo Swamp

To the south of Peterson's Farm there is a decent sized pond called Loo Swamp named so after the first person to discover it which surprisingly enough was a tot on a walk with his parents. On the pond were a number of Loons but, the excited child trying to point out the birds to his parents, couldn't quite say the word right and it came out as 'Loo'. The parents decided to call it Loo Pond after their child's discovery and the name stuck. Until this day, Loo Pond is visited by a number of species of water fowl and other water loving critters, making it quite the hot spot for strays looking for easy prey to dine on. The humans call it a swamp for the water tends to be covered by a film of green algae in the sumer in spring seasons but, for a dog it can be paradise. A dog can hide among the tall cat tails, for the perfect camoflauge on the hunt and wade in the cool water on those balmy days. Once, you're done with your swim perhaps you wish the lay among the weeds and bask in the sun. Or maybe on a hot day you just want to relax in the shade of the giant willow tree that grows over the pond. There's no need to worry about humans here anymore, as they consider the swamp a buggy, mucky wasteland. But hey, to a canine, it's a dogs' life!
