Layfette Park
Layfette Park lays a few miles southeast of Loo Pond and is a great site for picnicking and having some good old fashioned leisure time. With long, lush grass and beautifully landscaped, even down to the stone pathways which twist and turn all over the park(some bringing you to walking trails or riding trails or down to the water front where one can fish or swim), Layfette Park is a perfect escape from the busy city life. There are no loud noises or stagnant air here but a serene atompshere that reminds one of the country where you can sit back and relax with a cold glass of lemonade and just watch the clouds roll by. Of course, this place is a awesome spot for canines as they too have miles of untouched land to romp and roam without fear of the city dangerous to distract them from having a thrilling time. Believe, it or not there is a lot for a candid to do within the park. There are seagulls to chase on the water front, fish and fresh water crabs to hunt down. There are tire swings to hung off of, playgrounds to romp on and frisbees and balls to fetch for those pampered human owned dogs. For canines who find these activities boring, there is always some thrill seeking to be had within the thick woods which boarder mos tof the park. In the forest, there is plenty of small quarry to track down such as squirrels, chipmunks, rabbit and of course nothings better than taking flight after those mangy foxes or coyotes.
