The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep,
Fringe!
“Time passes quickly when you’re having fun, but if nothing in this world is fun then how does time pass so quickly?” I become curious, for I have no answer to this question. Hero pricks his ears waiting for me to make a guess. He knows I will be wrong and he knows I know I will be wrong, but he still expects me to try. A sigh escapes my maw, as I quickly give up on trying to figure out the riddle. “I do not know what world you are living in, Hero, but my world seems to be getting slower every day.” As I speak, he chuckles with delight. He always finds what I say humorous in the oddest ways. “Now please enlighten me with the answer to your question.” I demand, tilting my head to the side in interest. “My dear, I do not know the answer. I was asking in hopes that you would know.” A smile crosses his face as he rocks back onto his haunches to sit. I shake my head with confusion. “But I do not understand. You always know the answer to everything.” I state what I think is true, but probably is not. He laughs at this and stares into my eyes. “I am so proud of you, my little one.” He whispers under his breath, I do not know if he assumes I cannot hear his words or not. The things Hero does always interest me, but I have yet to make any sense of what he tells me. He says that one day I will understand everything he has said, but that day will come when I least expect it. I have waited a long time for the day I will understand his stories and lectures, but it has yet to come.
This memory fills my head as I walk down a narrow dirt path. This reservation is beautiful and that is why I chose to take a walk here and reminisce in my old memories. Alas Hero has been dead for a year and a half now. Killed by the scientists at Hawthorne Laboratory a year after we had met. He had practically raised me, seeing as my mother abandoned me when I was only a pup. Never knowing having something called a family was possible; Hero had showed me what real life was like. He taught me how to survive, how to learn from my mistakes, and also how to trust. My only friend, and true companion that brute was. The scientists used him as a lab rat, testing anything they could on him. He had given his life for mine, taking my place when they had captured me. I would never forget my old friend, or the memories we shared. Forever in my heart they would be kept. Now as I walked this path I thought of him. I also thought of the up coming date that would mark his death. A shiver ran down my spine making my body contract with tension.
I did not need to think of these things while I walked on such a beautiful day. Not a single sign of any upcoming rain showers that often caressed this city or any sign of approaching fog. I loved this sunny weather, and the occasional breeze that ruffled my fur. I had finally gotten use to living on my own in this place I now called home. It felt good to know I belonged somewhere. I did not belong to a pack though, as the others who had chosen sides. I did not like conflict, but would deal with it if ever brought upon me. Today I wanted something new to happen, something exciting. I was hoping to meet someone new. The usual dogs I saw roaming the streets of the city were often of no interest to me. Any dogs that roamed this area of land would make me curious of their reasoning. Not many chose to come to such a quiet and peaceful place, unless they were kindhearted. I did not need or want to meet a bloodthirsty monster on this walk. I could not befriend someone of that type. So that is what I planned to do; find someone to befriend.
And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep,

It starts in my soul And I lose all control When you kiss my nose The feelin shows Cause you make me smile Baby just take your time now Holdin me tight The light behind our hero's eyelids grew bright and red as he stirred with consciousness, snuffling into the wet grass. He didn't want to wake up- but he felt a dull ache in his belly that demanded attention. Hunger couldn't be ignored. It must be dealt with before it became a problem. On your feet, soldier. He stretched his limbs and unfurled his purple tongue in a luxurious yawn, shook the dew from his fur and looked around, panting. Everyone has a sob story, so who is this layabout in the tall grass who looks so entirely content? A white speck in the distance, flanked by trees and rocks, his location close to a narrow dirt path. Birds singing, squirrels playing, baby deer looking adorably about with huge eyes, all that great stuff, and a big white dog in the middle of everything, just waking up from another good night's sleep.
Also, he is a revolutionary being; filled with compassion and hate for all things evil, but entirely willing to forget his serious alter ego for as much time as possible. And here, in the forest, he mused as he tried to banish the sleep from his bright eyes, he might as well. Hardly any other canines bothered with this area of land- to neutral for cowards, to coward-less for bloodthirsty demons to bother with. Though it was convenient, it was becoming slightly lonely of late... Better get a move on, then. There was scrounging and scavenging to do among the city's dumpsters, breakfast ala flies. He moved confidently, lazily out onto the path, his sleepy smile still plastered on his face, and gave a start of surprise.
Nose to nose with another dog, a large she-dog, from the looks of it. An auspicious beginning. He cocked his head and smiled, tail flicking back and forth with happy suprise, triangular ears perked. "Hullo there." His voice was deep and carried a rubbery quality that made him sound a little bit silly, especially this early in the morning. He blinked sleep from his eyes and took a step backward, concious of the close proximity. Not that he minded, but he didn't want to further scare his suprise indruder.Where ever, where ever, where ever you go Where ever, where ever, where ever you go Where ever you go, I'll always know Cause you make me smile here, just for a while OOC: Sorry for short post, next post will have a much better worcount. ^^'

I got tired of waiting Wondering if you were ever coming around My faith in you is fading When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
Fringe!
Lost contently in thought my nose softly bumped into something. My eyes quickly alerted to what I had ran into, which turned out to be a large white brute. "Hullo there." His tone was unusually humorous to me, as he seemed to just be shaking off sleep. A cute laugh escaped my maw, as I took a step back giving us both space between our bodies. "Hello." I said politely, rocking back on my haunches to sit my rump on the ground. "My name is Fringe, and you are?" I asked giving a cute smile, showing off my sharp ivories. The presence this male brought to the air was very new to me. My eyes examined him, finding that indeed he was a very handsome dog. I sighed heavily, and shook out my thick pelt.
Ears pricked with interest I sat before the brute completely trusting that he would not harm me. Although he was a stranger to me, I did not find anything dangerous about him. The atmosphere had changed as we sat silently staring at one another. I decided to break the silence as I was suddenly curious about this male. "So what brings such a brute to this area?" My question was not meant to be rude just my simple curiosity. I slowly tilted my head to the side waiting for his reply.
The memory of when I had first met Hero, filled my head as I stared at the dog before me. Hero had surprised me in the same way, just showing up at my hiding place one morning. He had watched me all night as I slept, and in the morning told me I snored slightly. This has offended me at first, because I knew I did and was too embarrassed to admit it. I laughed quietly remembering the fit I had thrown over his appearance at my home. I remember the calm face he had kept, and the way he had laughed at my upset whining.
Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone I keep waiting for you but you never come Is this in my head? I don't know what to think
OOC; Sorry for how short my post is. My muse suddenly decided to fail.

You take my hand leaving me breathless, Feel the beat of my racing heart so you'll understand- -And know, why we whisper in hallways: He returned the smile, pleased that she seemed to have taken a shine to him. Then she wasn't an aggressive dog- on the contrary, in fact. She seemed comfortable with his presence, so he took her a cue from the pretty shepherd mix and dropped to a sitting position, the white ruff of his neck settling around his shoulders. "Fisk." He smiled, "Nice to meet you."
The comfortable silence gave him an instant to watch her and consider her appearance- beautiful, well-shined coat, large, shepherd build that looked as if it contained a mix of some kind of collie or even an aussie... pretty blue eyes, not a common trait for a stray... she looked well-off, as if street life had been treating her well. Good for her. His tail thumped against the forest floor.
He leaned forward as she issued her question, curiosity coloring her voice, her head tilted endearingly. No doubt about it, she was cute. He wanted to bury his nose in her fluffy fur, but that was no doubt against the rules. It looked so soft, shiny... ...he realized suddenly that she was waiting for his answer. "Enjoying the scenery-" an irrepressible yawn made itself known. He smiled sheepishly. "-and catching up on my rest. It's peaceful here; not too many wild parties, if you don't count the raccoon's." Smile, smile, smile. Pant. He scratched behind his ear with his back leg, catlike, trying to rid himself of the few obnoxious fleas that it would take him years to locate if he searched through his cloud-like fluff. Oh, well. Such was the price of warmth.
"May I inquire after your purpose in this rough expanse of foliage, and on such a lovely morning as well? Surely beautiful a lady such as yourself grieves at the very notion of getting her fur dirty," He teased, standing up and bowing with a flouncy motion, his eyes bright and humor-lit. His tail wagged happily. This was much better then being on his own. He could get used to company."I'll be with you always," Running together, forever you and I.

You never know what you want, And you never say what you mean, But I start to go insane, Every time that you look at me,
Fringe!
With a soft yawn of my own I shook out my pelt and sighed. "Fisk, what a unique name." I said smiling at him. He was very pleasant to be around and well mannered compared to the many males I had met throughout the years. I quietly giggled at the way he scratched his ear, it was... cute. "I need a nap, myself." My eyes roamed over the beautiful area as I spoke. Indeed this area was a good place to rest. So quiet, it gave a dog the time to think. Not that I needed to do that, but it was nice for those who did. "My fur is always dirty. The urge to jump in a nice mud puddle every now and again is too hard to resist." I gave a silent laugh at the thought. The white that covered my body was almost always stained with brown because of the habit.
The thick brush and many trees that scattered the land seemed full of adventure. They called to me in a way that was unknown. Maybe I would take a walk later on to go explore. Who knew what could be found in the woods? My legs felt stiff from sitting so long, so I silently lifted my bodice and stretched. With a soft grunt I finished loosening my muscles and wagged my tail. "Are there many other dogs in these parts?" I asked wondering if I would run into anyone else later in the day. That was if I didn't decide to make myself a burden and follow Fisk around for the afternoon. A companion was nice to have around every once in awhile and especially one like him. He was intriguing in so many ways, and I was eager to learn more about him.
Maybe spending the day with someone new might be fun. After all I never did like being alone, after I had met Hero. Waking up every morning to find a friend by my side was something so unexplainable. Now that I woke up alone I was beginning to lose faith in what the day would bring. Today I had gotten lucky and found someone so why not take advantage of the opportunity? "Would you like to take a walk?" I asked with a bright smile, my eyes searching his. Most dogs found my appearance to be odd, and almost always shied away from the fact that I was different. Fisk did not seem to be afraid of my unusualness, and it was nice to know. As I finally straightened my posture and lifted my head slightly higher to look at him I sighed quietly. "That is if you didn't have anything else planned for the day." I added not wanting to come off as rude and pushy.
You only hear half of what I say, And you're always showing up too late, And I know that I should say goodbye, But it's no use, Can't be with or without you,

“Understandable. But what a shame! You’ve got such pretty fur.” He laughed, shaking his head.
His kitty-cat ears pricked, he pondered her question, tilting his head with a little hmm noise. “I guess not. I don’t know why, it’s beautiful out here…” He smiled, taking in the scenery with a panting smile. Beautiful overhanging branches for shade, thick grass and unfamiliar, exciting scents carried on the light breeze. His favorite spot, hands-down, and he would have been content to stay here forever if it was a little more populated out here. The isolation was a little much if some other canine didn’t make himself or herself known. He had a friend now, though. His tail wiggled happily, as fluffy and white as the rest of him, though he was a little more scruffy and wiry then his dog-show equivelants, and on the large side as well. Certainly not a breed standard. What did he care about those? As far as he knew, dog shows were some kind of idiotic pageant.
And the humans ran them- he couldn’t stand humans. Their little one’s sticky hands and loud voices unnerved him, and the dog catcher’s irritating appearance was always a time suck. Once or twice, one had reached out a hand as if to pat him gentle on the head, but the first time he’d nearly bitten the offender (And been smacked across the muzzle for his impertinence, though he’d been too stunned to react) and the second time he’d learned from his mistakes, ducking away from the painful hands. It was to much. It went against his instincts to let them touch him. Perhaps he was a bit of a throwback to his wild ancestors… whatever the reason, he feared and respected them as something more dangerous then himself. They had guns, knives, and power. All he had were claws and teeth and the will to survive. He wouldn’t chance such odds.
Her blue eyes brought him back to reality, questions still lingering in the air. “Yeah! I don’t have anything planned for today, other then avoiding trouble… though sometimes, it seems as though it finds me all on it’s own. Maybe you can keep it off my back.” He nudged her shoulder with his muzzle jokingly. Touchy-feely guy, this one. How confusing.
